According to a Reuters report on December 16, in 2023, e-cigarette products became the fastest growing category in British grocery stores for the second consecutive year, while sales of cigarettes, cigars and loose tobacco fell sharply.
Sales of e-cigarette products in the UK rose by 897.4 million pounds (approximately 8.14 billion yuan) in 2023, according to data released on Saturday by market researchers NIQ and The Grocer.
Among them, the Lost Mary brand owned by the Chinese e-cigarette company Heaven Gifts is the fastest growing product in the UK, with sales increasing by 310.6 million pounds (approximately 2.82 billion yuan) compared with the previous year. While sales of cigarettes, cigars and loose tobacco fell by £849.1m and £393.1m respectively.
